Colbert County Muscle Shoals National Heritage

The Kelley Group completed a study in partnership with the Colbert County Commission and Muscle Shoals National Heritage Area to identify existing recreational locations and future recreational opportunities in Colbert County, specifically in the area of the Tennessee River. TKG engaged the public and created a Strategic Recreational Plan for Colbert County focused on recreational activities linked to the Tennessee River, including kayaking, canoeing, boating, trails, and water access.

Jacksonville State University Little River Canyon Feasibility Study

The Kelley Group commissioned by Jacksonville State University and in partnership with Appalachian Regional Commission prepared a study to assess and define solutions for site preparation, infrastructure, and forecast the economic and environmental impacts for development elements including a hotel, treehouse village, student bunkhouse, aerial treetop adventure, and a restaurant/marketplace.

Opportunity Alabama – North Alabama Opportunity Zones

The Kelley Group in partnership with Alabama Mountain Lakes Tourist Association and Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs created a handbook for Opportunity Alabama (OPAL), mapping Opportunity Zones in Alabama to support economic development through a data-driven approach for investors and communities.

City of Boaz Comprehensive Plan, Zoning Ordinance, and Subdivision Regulations

The Kelley Group provided a new Comprehensive Plan, Zoning Ordinance, and Subdivision Regulation for the City of Boaz. The framework is the vision for the future and a blueprint for positive change, as it relates to both the physical growth of the City’s infrastructure, and to the enhancement of quality of life aspects for recreation, neighborhoods, and social equity.  The development guidelines will be a fundamental part of the City’s decision-making processes now and in the future.
